Description
As the Housing Assistant overseeing residential make-readies, the incumbent
helps coordinate make-readies, and assist in administrating the Embassy
Housing program, under the direct supervision on the Supervisory Housing
Assistant. The incumbent ensures housing quarters are made ready for 
occupancy by coordinating with landlords on repairs, renovations, and
maintenance work to comply with Embassy standards; coordinating with 
Facilities and Property Management sections during changes of occupancy
or new acquisition of residences; providing information to customers on
residential maintenance and service provider contacts. Serves as primary
liaison with utility (water, electricity, sewage, natural gas, etc.) and telephone 
companies that provide service to USG-owned properties in Cairo and Alexandria. 
Under guidance from the Senior Housing Assistant, assists the negotiation and
administration of leases. May assist the other Housing Assistants in working
with the Financial Management Office to develop and prepare lease vouchers 
and answering questions related to processing of lease vouchers. In addition,
the incumbent performs other related duties as required by the Supervisory GSO 
or Senior Housing Assistant.
Qualifications
1. College studies are required. 2. Two years of experience in housing, 
real estate, management, and /or maintenance and repair of real property
is required. 3. Level IV (fluent) in English and Arabic is required. 4. Basic Excel,
to be tested within 6 months of hiring date as a condition of employment.
