أعلن تقرير صادر عن وزارة القوى العاملة والهجرةأن فرص العمل، التي تم توفيرها وشغلها بالفعل خلال العام الماضي، 2010، بلغت 511.785  فرصةعمل في 17 دولة.
وأشار التقرير إلى أن سوق العمل السعودي جاء في المرتبة الأولى من حيثاستيعابه للعمالة المصرية، والتي تبلغ أعدادها  201.113
 فرصة عمل، تلتها الأردن بنحو  81.968  فرصة ثم الكويت بنحو 847.61 فرصة عملالإمارات بنحو 41.029فرصة عمل تليها قطر 12.640فرصة عملثم كل من السودان ولبنان والبحرين وسلطنة عمان وإيطاليا واليونان.
وصرحت عائشة عبدالهادي، وزيرة القوى العاملة والهجرة، بأن فرص العمل تباينت مابين أطباء ومدرسين ومحاسبين ومهندسين ومندوبي مبيعات وعمالة فنية في قطاعاتالتشييد والبناء والزراعة والسياحة والخدمات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات، وأن الطلبعلى العمالة من حملة المؤهلات المتوسطة جاء في المرتبة الأولى، وجاءت العمالة منحملة المؤهلات العليا، ثم حملة المؤهلات فوق المتوسطة.
وأوضحت أن الوزارة، من خلال مكاتب التمثيل العمالي، التابعة لها بالخارج، تتابعأولا بأول أوضاع العمالة المصرية في مختلف الدول العربية، وتتدخل لحل أية مشكلاتقد تواجهها بالتنسيق مع كافة الجهات المعنية.
وأشارت إلى أن الوزارة تتخذ عددًا من الإجراءات الوقائية، التي توفر الحماية لتلك العمالة، وأن تلك الإجراءات تنفذ قبل سفر العامل المصري، وتتمثل في حرص الوزارة على مراجعة عقود العمل قبل التصديق عليها، والتأكد من سلامة وموضوعية شروطها، خاصة ما يتعلق بالأجر وساعات العمل والبدلات والإجازات والحوافز،والتأكد كذلك من أن العامل يتعاقد مع أحد أصحاب الأعمال من خارج القائمة المحظورة، وكذلك إبلاغ مكاتب التمثيل العمالي بالعمالة المتعاقدة والمسافرة إليه حتى يتمكن المستشارون العماليون من متابعة أوضاعهم، والإشراف على أماكن وظروفعملهم.
ولفتت إلى أن الإجراءات الجماعية، التي تتخذها الوزارة قبل سفر تلك العمالة، تشمل كذلك مراقبة نشاط شركات إلحاق العمالة بالخارج للتأكد من جدية فرص العملالتي توفرها.
