JOB PURPOSE
To lead and be responsible for the performance of the Laboratory shift team, monitoring all manufacturing operations to ensure that technical performances are optimized and that outputs meet agreed quality criteria in terms of technical specification.
Job Description:
- Reporting to Quality Control Dep. Manager.
- Works as directed by the Lab. Manager/ Head of Quality for corrective actions and additional assignments.
- Ensures all lab equipment are maintained & calibrated and Calibration records are filled and maintained according to ISO standards.
- Leads the laboratory shift team by example promoting efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy in laboratory analyses, completing all assigned analysis on time and to schedule.
- Liaises with the Shift Manager, Utility Supervisor and Finished Product/ Retail Supervisors to ensure effective application and interpretation of Laboratory data.
- Undertakes routine sampling, analyses, inspection and information collection for raw sugar, process, utilities, finished product, microbiology and bulk tankers using available laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Works safely and effectively ensuring compliance with all safety, quality and environmental policies, procedures and practices
Qualifications and Skills:
- Post secondary qualification in Chemistry or related disciplines
- Minimum of five years experience in sugar or similar industrial process laboratories.
- Must be able to communicate fluently in both written and spoken English
- Intermediate level MS Office
- Experience in water and boiler analyses
- Experience in microbiological techniques would be an advantage

JOB PURPOSE
To develop, document, implement, have certified and maintain the Quality, Environmental, Management Systems and continually improve its effectiveness in accordance with the requirements of appropriate national and international standards and ensures compliance with legal requirements. And to assure that finished product is meeting our / customer specification, through developing, maintaining and implementing quality assurance systems which deal with suppliers, customers, raw materials and finished products and any other necessary activities.
Job Description:
- Reporting to Quality Sr. Department Manager.
- Ensures that the planning of the Quality, Environmental Management Systems is carried out in order to meet the systems objectives, and ensures that processes and documents (policies, standards, forms, registers, procedures, records….) needed for the Quality, Environmental, Management Systems are developed, documented, implemented and maintained.
- Design, measure and analysis customer satisfaction survey, report findings and issue and follow up action plans
- Identify all applicable legal requirements of environmental to ensure that are met through regular inspection, testing and monitoring of the environmental aspects.
- Performs technical measurements and monitoring of all significant environmental aspects (all air emission sources, waste management program…) and performs on-going risk assessment of ASC activities in order to identify the environmental impact, and Report the findings of risk assessment of environmental impacts to the top management in order to develop the objectives and targets of Environmental Management Systems.
- Develop, implement and follow up action plans to ensure that objectives and targets of Environmental Management Systems are accomplished.
Qualifications and Skills:
- The position requires a university degree in science.
- Minimum of two years experience in quality management system.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English to all levels.
- Must have previous experience in the development, implementation and maintenance of ISO 9000, ISO 14000 and other international systems, with appropriate auditing qualifications.
- Must have a proper experience in environmental, health and safety evaluation and related issues.
- A level of competency in computer usage.
- Experience in other management system e.g. HACCP & TQM would be an advantage.
- Membership to relevant professional group would be an advantage.
- Minimum two years experience in Auditing as internal Auditor and/or lead Auditor.
