Job Description
Functional Role for the Back Office Support Engineer of 2G RAN area belonging to RAN Back Office department within the Etisalat MS Team. RAN Back Office Support works on 24X7 on shift basis.
2G RAN Back Office Support Engineer is responsible for maintaining the normal operation of network 2G RAN services and /or resources in a way the fulfils Managed Services SLA’s and KPI’s commitments.
In addition, 2G RAN Back Office Support Engineer Functional Role is responsible for the below functions:
Operational Readiness
2 nd Level Assurance
Operational Fulfilment
The main activities are the following:
2 nd level restoration of service network layer functionality
2 nd level routine maintenance
Collect and analyze service performance data and ensure that appropriate short term measures for optimization are taken to secure that service performance meets specified severability or traffic ability criteria
Provide service performance reporting with adequate information i.e. root cause analysis, to enable stakeholders and / or SIP processes to determine appropriate long term service and / or network resource improvements.
Qualifications
Education
• Degree within Electrical Engineering / Telecommunication Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Engineering.
• Have a minimum 2 years of experience in 2G RAN Back Office Support.
• Deep knowledge of GSM access system
Fluent in written and spoken English
• Arabic is not compulsory but advantageous
Result oriented.
• Flexible and responsive to changing work patterns and demands.
• A thorough and methodical approach to work.
• Highly developed skills in Interpersonal communication
• Highly developed skills in driving change
• Highly developed skills in knowledge sharing by actively contributing knowledge, experiences and skills to create a learning culture.

Good knowledge in use of IS/IT
The following competence elements are required for 2G RAN Back Office Support Engineer functional role:
• Strong background in APZ 212 33C/55, AXE10/810, APG40, APG43, RBS (2x02, 2x06, 2x16, 2302, 2308, 2309, 2319)
• CP and APG upgrades and updates.
• RBS software upgrade.
• Very Good understanding of 2G RAN Radio and C7 signalling.
• Very Good understanding of 2G RAN system and RF KPIs.
• Knowledge of Gb/IP, Abis/IP and A/IP configuration and troubleshooting.
• AXE hardware configuration data transcript.
• IP networking essentials.
