JOB SUMMARY:
This position is a full time Psychiatrist, in the Mental Health Care Line (see Duties section). Surrounded by mountains, Tucson, AZ, has sunshine year-round. Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS) is a 283-bed teaching hospital which operates Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Northwest and Southeast Tucson, Casa Grande, Green Valley, Safford, Sierra Vista, and Yuma, Arizona. A brand new Mental Health addition was just completed in August 2008. Provides direct outpatient care for a diverse patient population. Will have a primary focus on caring for patients with PTSD and be part of an outpatient PTSD team. There is some inpatient on-call responsibility as well. Academic experience and research interest is a major plus. In addition to patient care, responsibilities also include supervision and education of residents and medical students from our affiliate the University of Arizona . QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Must have a Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible.
Must possess a current/unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a state, territory or Commonwealth of the U.S. or District of Columbia.
Must be proficient in spoken and written English (for direct patient care).

WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT:
